Barrington started as part of Massachusetts, then joined Rhode Island in 1746-47 when a new border line moved it over. The town split off on its own again in 1770. Today it sits on two peninsulas on Narragansett Bay. Nayatt Point Light, built in 1828 and rebuilt in brick in 1856, still stands at the tip of one.
In the early 1900s, Barrington's farmland was gradually turned into seaside housing for Providence commuters. That left homes from nearly every era standing close to the water.
Downspout offers gutter cleaning, gutter repair, and pressure washing throughout Barrington. Properties on Nayatt and Rumstick sit close enough to the bay that salt air reaches roofs and siding well past the waterfront. Older homes built during Barrington's resort boom often have gutter systems patched together over generations. A gutter that isn't sized or pitched right lets water collect where roofline additions meet, a common problem on older homes. Downspout cleans and repairs those aging gutter systems, and pressure washes siding and trim worn by the salt air.
Serving Barrington and Its Neighborhoods
Downspout works throughout Barrington, from the waterfront homes of Nayatt and Rumstick to the neighborhoods around West Barrington and the town center. Whether a home is old or new, regular gutter care and pressure washing help it hold up against the bay air.
