New Shoreham is Block Island, roughly 12 miles off the mainland. It's reachable only by ferry or plane, with about 800 year-round residents. Block Island became a popular Victorian resort from the 1860s through the 1920s. The island's Southeast Light, built in 1874, had to be moved 245 feet inland in 1993 when erosion threatened the tower.
That same erosion and exposure affects every property on the island. Sitting alone in open water, Block Island takes the full force of Atlantic storms and salt spray.
Downspout offers gutter cleaning, storm cleanup, pressure washing, and roof cleaning across New Shoreham. Gutters here see more storm debris and wind damage than a mainland home would. Salt air also works through paint, siding, and roofing faster than almost anywhere else in the state. Downspout handles gutter repair and storm cleanup for island homes. We also run pressure washing and roof cleaning suited to the constant salt exposure of living on Block Island.
Serving New Shoreham and Its Neighborhoods
Downspout works across New Shoreham, from the historic homes near Old Harbor to homes across the rest of Block Island. Living twelve miles out in open water means exterior surfaces take a harder hit from salt and storms. Regular gutter care and pressure washing help a home keep up.
