East Greenwich was settled in 1677 and became the seat of Kent County in 1750. By the mid-1700s, it was one of Rhode Island's leading trade and shipbuilding centers. Main Street still holds buildings from that era, including the 1803 Kent County Courthouse, now the town hall.
The Kentish Guards militia, chartered in 1774, still operates out of its 1840s armory on Peirce Street. Greenwich Cove sits a few blocks from Main Street, right on Narragansett Bay.
Downspout offers gutter cleaning, gutter repair, and pressure washing throughout East Greenwich. Homes along Main Street and the historic district date back two and three centuries. Their gutter systems have been repaired piecemeal across many owners. An undersized or misaligned gutter lets water run down original wood siding and brick. Salt air off Greenwich Cove adds a second layer of wear, streaking siding and speeding up grime buildup. Downspout cleans and repairs those older gutter systems carefully, and pressure washes siding and trim without damaging the historic finish.
Serving East Greenwich and Its Neighborhoods
Downspout works throughout East Greenwich, from the historic homes along Main Street and Greenwich Cove to the newer neighborhoods further inland. Whether a property is centuries old or recently built, regular gutter care and pressure washing protect it from coastal Rhode Island weather.
