Charlestown's deeper history belongs to the Narragansett and Niantic peoples. The sachem Ninigret led the Eastern Niantic through the 1600s. Fort Ninigret, a 17th-century trading post site, was called the oldest military post on the Atlantic coast at its 1883 dedication. The Narragansett Indian Tribe still has a presence in Charlestown today.
The town's coastline is defined by a string of salt ponds. Ninigret Pond, the largest, covers over 1,500 acres and connects to Block Island Sound.
Downspout offers gutter cleaning, roof cleaning, and pressure washing across Charlestown. Salt air and wind from those coastal ponds reach homes well beyond the immediate waterfront. Homes near Ninigret Pond see faster buildup of salt residue and mildew on siding and roofing than an inland home would. Gutters here collect wind-driven debris at a higher rate too. Downspout cleans and repairs gutter systems worn by that coastal exposure. We also run roof cleaning and pressure washing for the salt buildup near the ponds and shoreline.
Serving Charlestown and Its Neighborhoods
Downspout works across Charlestown, from the homes near Ninigret Pond and the coastal ponds to the neighborhoods further inland. Whatever a home's distance from the water, regular gutter care and pressure washing help it hold up against Charlestown's coastal climate.
