Johnston split off from Providence in 1759. Its early economy centered on quarrying and farming. Stone cut from Johnston's quarries built some of Providence's best-known landmarks. After World War II, builders turned much of Johnston's farmland into suburban tract housing.
Homes built during that 1950s boom are now about seventy years old in many spots. Providence lost people to surrounding towns like Johnston faster than almost any other American city during that time.
Downspout offers gutter cleaning, gutter repair, and pressure washing throughout Johnston. Many of those 1950s-era gutter systems have reached the point where they leak, sag, or stop draining right. Homes near Snake Den State Park also deal with heavy leaf and debris buildup from surrounding trees. Johnston's older stone and masonry buildings, built from local quarry stone, collect grime and algae over time. Downspout repairs and replaces aging gutter systems, and pressure washes stone and masonry surfaces built from those same quarries.
Serving Johnston and Its Neighborhoods
