Scituate's history changed for good in 1915. The state took nearly 40 percent of the town's land to build the Scituate Reservoir. Over the next decade, crews demolished more than 1,195 buildings and wiped whole villages off the map. The reservoir still supplies about 60 percent of Rhode Island's residents with water today.
Not every village was lost. Hope, in southern Scituate, survives, along with the village of North Scituate.
Downspout offers gutter cleaning, gutter repair, and pressure washing across Scituate. Homes in villages like North Scituate and Hope carry old gutter systems, fixed many times over the decades. These don't always match current rooflines. Properties on wooded lots near the reservoir also fill up with leaves fast. Downspout cleans and repairs gutter systems across Scituate's older village housing and wooded properties. We also pressure wash siding that's collected years of buildup from tree cover.
